Marge Hartfel received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Biology at St. Olaf College. She obtained an MS in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota under the guidance of Dr. Art Erdman. Marge has nearly 30 years of experience working on sports science and engineering projects with USA Luge, USA Bobsled, and US Speedskating. She spent 25 years at 3M working in Engineering, Six Sigma, and Healthcare. In Six Sigma, Marge developed and taught courses on Design for Six Sigma to 3M product development teams globally. In Healthcare she led many new product programs, including nine new product launches in Food Safety. In her spare time, she enjoys golfing and knitting and lots and lots of travel.
