AJAY GUPTA, BS, MS, MBA (2020-2021)

Ajay Gupta was raised in Canada and India. He moved to the US for graduate studies in Chemical Engineering, specializing in polymers (Michigan State University). Ajay’s initial career was with a string of start-ups developing compostable biodegradable polymers. When that market didn’t mature as expected, Ajay pivoted to medical devices in 2000 and has been with the same company, Boston Scientific, since.

Ajay has put on a lot of hats at Boston Scientific- including technology development, exploratory work, new product development, troubleshooting, process development, mentoring, leading teams and connecting people. Ajay has contributed to the launch of numerous commercial products in the fields of radiology, cardiology, oncology and peripheral interventions.

While at BSC, Ajay’s other achievements were obtaining an MBA (Carlson School of Management) while raising two kids, both now in college.

During his Fellowship during the pandemic years of 2020-2021, Ajay led a team of Fellows to explore two large areas to identify opportunities that fit BSC strategy. He also sponsored two teams of Mechanical Engineering students for their Senior projects.

Ajay is an avid learner and is passionate about promoting critical thinking. He holds multiple patents, with many ideas always in the pipeline. Ajay enjoys sailing on Lake Harriet, travel, hiking, playing Bridge, ping-pong, golfing, skiing and cooking.
