Dan Broberg's engineering passion is product development: from patent to production. His drive to design, create and build resulted in nine patents with more pending, several of which turned into marketable products with clear revenue streams. Dan helped launch a product out of the Innovation Fellowship program, Minneties®, where he took the product from concept to reality, crafting the submission and obtaining 510(k) clearance and bringing the product to market. Mr. Broberg served on project teams to develop DNA isolation automation equipment, a blood centrifuge to isolate platelet rich plasma and various ENT products, surgical instrument sterilization devices. While an equity partner in a contract medical device engineering and manufacturing firm his clients included medical entrepreneurs and Fortune 100 companies. In engineering management roles, Dan successfully adapted designs for manufacturing and production resulting in doubled volumes and cost savings. Dan works at Summit Medical where he wears multiple hats crossing from engineering, quality, and regulatory. He is immersed in the essential medical device industry environment of FDA registration, ISO 13485 certification, Device History Files, Risk Assessment, Validations and Verifications, MDD/MDR, etc.

Dan enjoys spending time at his lakeside home with his wife and children. He is a sailboat racer in the Olympic Yngling class, competing in national and world championships. As a long-time maple syrup "sapper" he produces up to 60 gallons of award-winning syrup annually. Camping, canoeing, backpacking, hiking and working in his shop-studio in southeastern MN round out Dan’s active lifestyle.
