CHRISTIE TRACZYK, PhD Student (2016-2017)
Christie Traczyk has over 11 years of cross-functional experience in industry, with 8 of those focused in the medical devices area. She has held program management and engineering roles within R&D, operations, business strategy and management, and quality engineering. She is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt and holds PMP certification from PMI.
Christie is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering (fluids, thermodynamics and heat transfer) at the University of Minnesota. She earned a MS in Industrial Systems Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2010 and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 2005. Christie also earned an AAS degree in Paramedicine through MNSCU/HCMC, and currently practices as a Critical Care Paramedic in MN and WI. As part of her role in emergency medicine, she became an American Heart Association BLS Instructor and is currently working toward her FP-C credential and SCUBA Rescue Diver certification.
During her free time, Christie enjoys swimming and diving, soccer, mountain biking, playing the piano, and volunteering. In a recent volunteering adventure, she completed a medical mission trip to Honduras with an orthopedic and OB/GYN surgical team. Most importantly, with her newly granted 'Aunt' title, Christie enjoys spending time with her family and its newest additions.
