CHRISTOPHER ROLFES, PhD (2012-2013)
Chris graduated from St. Olaf College with an undergraduate degree in physics and mathematics. Afterwards, he worked as a post-baccalaureate research fellow at the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute in Bethesda, MD, building automated microtome imaging systems. Chris earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota where he focused on localized cardiac drug delivery. He also helped to develop various additional delivery methods and devices for use in cardiovascular medicine.
Chris’s industry experience includes developing patient warming devices with Augustine Biomedical Designs. He has also worked in research and development at Medtronic in both Therapy Delivery and Atrial Fibrillation Solutions, focusing on fixation technology and testing methods.
Chris lives in St. Paul with his wife. He enjoys home projects, spending time with family and friends, and most things outdoors, especially biking, hiking, ultimate and soccer.
